Terms of Service

Roughwork provides cloud-based software to help small businesses manage jobs, customers, estimates, invoices, and payments. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time with reasonable notice.

You must be at least 18 years old and a legal resident of the United States to use Roughwork. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at support@getroughwork.com if you suspect unauthorized access.

You may not share your account with others or create accounts using false information.

Roughwork is a paid subscription service. By subscribing you authorize us to charge your payment method on a recurring basis (monthly or annually, depending on your plan).

Free trial. New accounts receive a 14-day free trial. You will not be charged until the trial ends. You may cancel at any time during the trial without charge.

Cancellation. You may cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you retain full access until then. We do not offer refunds for partial billing periods.

Price changes. We will give you at least 30 days’ notice before changing subscription prices. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the new price.

All payments are processed by Stripe. By subscribing you also agree to Stripe’s terms.

You agree not to:

• Use Roughwork for any unlawful purpose or to facilitate illegal activity
• Upload or transmit malware, viruses, or harmful code
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the service or its infrastructure
• Scrape, crawl, or systematically extract data from the service
• Resell or sublicense access to Roughwork without our written permission
• Impersonate another person or business

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules without notice or refund.

You own the data you create in Roughwork — your customers, jobs, estimates, and invoices. You grant us a limited license to store and process that data solely to provide the service.

You are responsible for ensuring your use of customer data complies with applicable laws, including any notice or consent requirements.

We do not claim ownership of any content you upload. We will not use your business data for advertising or sell it to third parties.

You can request a copy of your data at any time by contacting us, and we will provide it. If you cancel your account, we retain your data for 90 days in case you wish to reactivate, after which it is permanently deleted. You may request immediate deletion by contacting us.

We aim to keep Roughwork available at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may perform scheduled maintenance with advance notice. We are not liable for losses caused by downtime, data loss, or service interruptions.

Roughwork and its underlying software, design, and content are owned by us and protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any rights to our trademarks, logos, or proprietary technology beyond what is needed to use the service.

Roughwork is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be error-free or that any defects will be corrected.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Roughwork and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the service, including loss of data, revenue, or profits. Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of the service will not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Roughwork and its operators from any claims, damages, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third party’s rights.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of the state in which Roughwork is registered. You waive any objection to jurisdiction or venue in those courts.

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you by email at least 14 days before material changes take effect. Continued use of the service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
